Meet Dave
Dave Timko has been passionate about woodworking for over 40 years. He has designed and built his own wood shop that is adjacent to his home in Batesville, Arkansas. Dave started the “The Timko Woodshop” on Facebook in 2014. He is now changing the name of the business to “Timko Woodshop.”
Dave's experience in woodworking started in 8th grade after he received a saw from his grandfather. He learned the fundamentals while taking woodworking classes in high school. When he purchased his own business in 1999, "Daylight Donuts," he used his skills to design and build the dough table in the kitchen, display case, and customer tables. He then started to make custom bread boards for customers and local businessman in the community. Since retirement, Dave has been busy producing edge grain cutting boards, charcuterie boards, coasters, serving trays, and variety of wood items.
Dave "never turns down free wood" and the local community members will often contact him when a tree has fallen or being cut down, He has acquired wood from the Adler Opera House, Junior Junction, and Batesville High School's gym floor. Dave’s handmade cutting boards use both natural and exotic lumber and are all 100% food grade safe; FDA approved wood glue is used and the boards are finished with mineral oil and natural beeswax.
Dave has sold his cutting boards and other wood products in the Batesville area at the Gallery 246, BAAC Gallery and at the Delta Visual Art Show and War Eagle Arts & Craft Fair.
